During our three visits to this class we were able to see multiple literacy components. We participated in guided reading groups, agenda set-ups, and witness a soft start. One of my favourite literacy activities was readers theatre.

How Readers Theater Works?

Readers’ theatre is a way to involve students in reading aloud. Students “perform” by reading scripts created from grade-level books or stories. In this particular class, they work on readers theater on Fridays for literacy. They spend three Fridays on one script, this way they are practiced and can add some student flare! Once students feel comfortable with their play or story, they will perform infront of the class.
